Chilean Misconceptions

We I have been excited for this trip for a long time which has lead us to a lot or reading and studying about Chile. We have developed a sensitive ear to what people say about the country.

Below are a couple misconceptions we've picked up on through the media and conversation::

* "Chile is not spelled with an E, it’s spelled with an I. C.h.i.l.i. is the correct spelling."

O’contrar my undereducated friend. Chili is delicious. Chile is a dramatic country

that averages over 2,600 miles long and averages 109 miles wide.

* “The Chilean Flag and Texan flags are identical.”

Though Texas and Chile share the same color schemes and patterns,

they are a bit different.

Texas

Who's copying who? The Chilean flag was raised 21 years before the Texan flag October 18, 1817.
